We are accepted by God

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. (Romans 15:7)

As human beings, we spend most of our time trying to gain acceptance from others, specially when we're young we crave acceptance from our parents, friends, crush, etc. We want everyone to like us and when we do something well we want everyone to notice and congratulate us. Even sometimes we accept doing things we don't want to do because the "cool kids" dare us to, and we just want to fit in. And dares might sound a bit childish, but the fact that we've been trying to get accepted for so long will tremendously affect us at some point, making our personality, way of speaking, clothes, hobbies, and so on, completely change.

The truth is that, perhaps you haven't reveived Jesus into your life, perhaps you don't even know more than a couple things about Him, but this is what you need to know right now: He has accepted you. And no, you didn't have to do any dumb dares, you didn't have to change who you are, because He has accepted you. He loves you and He wants the best for you, that's why you're reading this right now, because He wants to get closer to you, He wants to embrace you and tell you that you didn't have to earn His acceptance because He already loves you since you were in your mother's womb (Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. Jeremiah 1:5)

Dear reader, I don't know what you're going through today, maybe you're trying to get your parents' acceptance, or your friends don't make you feel worthy enough, I don't know if you're sitting somewhere thinking how unworthy you are, but just know that your Heavenly Father sent His only son to die on the cross for you, and this makes you beyond valuable.

You might be asking yourself "how could I be accepted? I'm not really a nice person", well, it is true that God loves us unconditionally, but that doesn't mean we can sin continually and say "oh well, He loves me anyway therefore He'll forgive me every time I sin", we can't abuse of His love. I believe that when we understand who we are in God, a change of heart follows, this means that we stop seeking for other's absolute acceptance, we stop setting our eyes on earthly things, and we seek our Father's acceptance with everything we do. Not only that, but we also begin reflecting God's acceptance and letting others know they are loved. God has seen us at our best and at our worst, and He still accepts us, so shouldn't we share that compassion with others?

Prayer:

+Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in prayer

+Thank God for your life and for His great, amazing love

+Open up your heart to Him, let Him know if you're seeking acceptance from someone, or from a group of people, tell Him what's going on in your life and in your heart. Then whole-heartedly tell Him you put everything in His hands

+Thank Him because He has accepted you and ask Him to show you who you are in Him

+Finish your prayer by saying: In the name of Jesus, Amen.
