Hillsong United- "Even when it hurts" (Empires)
I’ve been acting since I was little, it’s one of my greatest passions, but it wasn’t until this year that I began directing plays myself. Few weeks ago my teacher gave the class an assignment, which was choosing a play to direct. I opened the book he gave us and spent around half an hour looking for a play of my interest, until I finally found the perfect one, I fell in love with it and pictured myself directing it. But of course, since it was so good, other people wanted it as well. I prayed and a couple of classmates said I could have it, but one guy made the difference, he wanted it as much as I did and somehow ended up being the director, I told the teacher how bad I wanted it and what he said was “be the co-director”. I got somewhat upset by the situation, I thought I was about to spend the next few weeks not doing anything since the co-director didn’t have an important role, or that’s what I thought. When I began working on the play I realized I actually had lots of things to do, not only that, but sharing this experience with someone who loved the play as much as I did turned out to be an amazing experience! So I realized my Heavenly Father wanted to teach me a very valuable lesson: things don’t always go the way we want them to, we can’t always win the 1st place on a race, but as long as we finish it we’re automatically winners.
How many times things don’t go the way we expect them to? Probably a lot; cases might be from us losing our keys to ending a relationship with the person we thought we were going to spend the rest of our lives with. It might be upsetting and saddening at first, but the truth is that God wants us to give Him all of us: our trust, worry, anxiety, and most of all, our love! He wants us to trust Him with all of our heart and soul. When we finally decide to walk hand by hand with the Lord, we realize that God’s will is absolutely perfect and He knows the plans He has for us (Jeremiah 29). We have to submit to Him and accept that we might have amazing ideas, but He always has way better ones!
Prayer:
+Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you
+Thank God for giving you the opportunity to have this valuable experiences
+Let God know that you want to trust Him no matter the circumstance
+Ask God to give peace to your heart and soul
+Finish your prayer by saying: In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen
Romans 8:28: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Proverbs 16:9: The heart of a man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.
