Song: By your Side
By: Tenth Avenue North
"Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you." Isaiah 54:10
How many times have you felt unworthy of God's love and forgiveness? Thinking about disappointing God has been one of the worst battles I've ever had to go through because even though I always knew the truth, that His love never ceases, I didn't feel holy or pure enough to be in His presence; I felt as if my life was full of sin in every aspect, I felt as if I did something so bad I didn't deserve His forgiveness, I felt dirty, I felt as if my heart doubled my body's weight. When I was at church I didn't feel worthy enough to worship Him, I tried to ask God for forgiveness multiple times, but every time I came to my room to pray I felt nothing, I felt like the connection was lost. Weeks could go on and on and the situation was just the same. One day, tired of the situation, I cried out to the Lord, sittilg in my room I looked out the window and saw a man cutting a bush, immediately the Holy Spirit reminded me of John 15, so I opened my Bible and I read:
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me."
And I understood it; many times in life we will feel unworthy of His love, but even in the worst moments we have to take the time to remember that God's love will never change nor fail. Think about how He sent His son, Jesus, to save us, even though we didn't quite deserve it. We all go through painful moments, but God is only preparing and shaping us for amazing experiences, He is preparing us to bear a fruit that endures forever. There's nothing you can do to change His love in your life!
Prayer:
This is the moment where you are going to poured out your heart to God
- Say this outloud: Holy Spirit please guide me in prayer
- Let God know how thankful you are for speaking directly to your heart
- Let God know how you feel about not been worthy (Ej.: sad, frustrated, confused etc.)
- Ask God for forgiveness
- Finish your prayer by saying: In the name of Jesus, Amen
